Your driveway is protected

A full dumpster is heavy, and drop-off and pickup are when asphalt gets marked. Every Megabac dumpster arrives clean, safe and fitted with the exclusive PROTEC-O-SOL system: built-in planks that spread the load and protect your asphalt, concrete or paved driveway. Nothing to supply, nothing extra to pay.

A tip from our drivers, for total protection

Even with the planks, the dumpster is still a steel box. Before the truck arrives, lay down four flattened cardboard boxes — or a thin sheet of plywood — where the dumpster will sit: the steel never touches your asphalt or your pavers directly. Two minutes of prep, zero worries.

How much does it cost?

Included in your rental

  • Delivery and pickup
  • 7 days of rental — 15 for contractors — whatever the size

What can be added

  • Going over the included weight, billed by the weigh ticket
  • Mixed loads in a single-material dumpster

Choose the right type of dumpster

Size is not the whole story: dumpsters are rented by material type. Each type goes to a different disposal facility — that is why mixed loads bring extra fees. One choice to make, five options:

Why it matters. A dumpster rented for concrete that shows up at the disposal facility with wood in it is refused at the concrete rate: the sorting gets billed back. If you have several types of materials, say so in the form or at 514 708-2424 — we point you to the right type, or to two dumpsters when that costs less than sorting fees.

Frequently asked questions — Terrebonne

When do you need a dumpster permit in Terrebonne?

As soon as the dumpster touches public property. By-law 725 names it expressly at section 2.2.1 b): $108 for the construction job-site permit, plus the daily occupancy fee. On your own land, nothing to apply for — by-law 1004-2 and zoning by-law 1001 stay silent on a temporary dumpster set down at a private home. The Bureau des citoyens settles your case at 450 961-2001; for the placement itself, call us at 514 708-2424.

What does a week of dumpster on a Terrebonne street cost?

Using the city's figures alone: $108 for the permit, plus $26 a day for 0 to 50 m² of paved surface, which comes to $290 taxes included over seven days. On an unpaved surface under 100 m², the daily rate drops to $22. That is a calculation, not a posted price — the area retained is fixed at the permit, from the scale drawing you file.

Does Terrebonne have its own ecocentre?

No municipal ecocentre. The Complexe Enviro Connexions waste depot, at 3779, chemin des Quarante-Arpents, is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with no reservation, and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by mandatory appointment; every residential address is entitled there to five free drop-offs a year, up to 5 metric tonnes. On top of that come the ecocentres of Bois-des-Filion and Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, capped at 5 m³ a year per residential unit.

Can a dumpster be delivered in Vieux-Terrebonne?

Yes, but the schedule no longer depends on us alone. Since May 20, 2026, Vieux-Terrebonne has been Quebec's 14th declared heritage site — roughly 25 hectares organized around the Île-des-Moulins — and the city reminds owners that an authorization from the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications comes before any repair, change to the exterior appearance, demolition, new construction or excavation. Obtain it before setting the delivery date.

What hours can you load the dumpster in Terrebonne?

Monday to Friday, the usable window runs from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; on Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays it only opens at 9 a.m. Outside those hours, by-law 896 treats any sound-producing device audible beyond the property lines as a nuisance (s. 20.1). One exception exists on a construction site: warming up the machinery needed for the work is allowed from 6 a.m. on weekdays.

Which dumpster for a bungalow renovation in Terrebonne?

The 20-yard covers most cases — kitchen, bathroom, plaster demolition — and the benchmark is simple: it is about the size of a Dodge Caravan. Beware the shortcut on the 10-yard, which is a 20-yard filled halfway: same footprint, lower walls, so it opens up no extra room in a short driveway. For soil-rocks-sod, concrete, bricks and mortar or asphalt, a dedicated dumpster is required — any mixing triggers sorting fees.

How do you get the $50 Libération Express credit?

The clock starts at delivery, not at your pickup call: the dumpster has to be freed up within the 48 hours that follow. Past that, your seven-day rental simply continues, with no penalty. The credit then lands on the credit card — subtracted from the extras, or paid in full when there are none. Offer valid during the peak season (March to October).

And elsewhere? We checked the permit rule in every city we serve, by-law in hand — because it is never the same from one city to the next.

Two dwellings in three come with a driveway

At the 2021 census, Terrebonne counted 119,944 residents and 45,247 occupied private dwellings, up 8.2% in five years. Of that stock, 28,110 units — 62.1% — fall under single-detached houses; put another way, close to two dwellings in three have a private driveway, where the dumpster goes down with no municipal permit. At the other end of the range, 9,540 apartments sit in buildings under five storeys and 365 units are mobile homes, where room for the drop becomes a real constraint. The urban plan, for its part, splits the territory into four large sectors — North (the former La Plaine), West, Centre and East (the former Lachenaie) — and names fifteen milieux de vie within them, from the Centre urbain to the Village Lachenaie.

Statistics Canada, 2021 census, and by-law 1000 (Terrebonne urban plan), consulted August 16, 2026.

Industrial hubs, and a collection service that stops at their gate

The Lachenaie sector is home to Tera8, which the city presents as Terrebonne's 8th industrial hub: 13 million square feet, of which 8 million are open to businesses and 5 million set aside for the conservation of natural environments. The Sables Thouin site spreads 260 hectares northeast of Highway 640 and could carry up to 5,000 jobs, while the Léveillé industrial park, next door to Vieux-Terrebonne, is on the contrary « appelé à être requalifié à des fins résidentielles » — slated for conversion to residential use. On the housing side, the Croisée urbaine project, between highways 640 and 40, plans close to 5,500 dwellings. One rule covers all of them: municipal collection does not pick up waste from buildings located in an industrial park, and any non-residential unit whose needs exceed the limits set by by-law must contract a private collection service. 40-yard dumpsters, scheduled swaps: that is our ground.

City of Terrebonne (« Tera8 » and « Croisée urbaine » pages), by-law 1000 and by-law 729, s. 3.3.1 and 3.4, consulted August 16, 2026.

From November 15 to April 15

The street changes status in winter: overnight parking is banned from midnight to 7 a.m. between November 15 and April 15, except where the city allows it — and it then alternates, even-numbered side or odd-numbered side. In part of Vieux-Terrebonne, where marked parking spaces exist, both sides are permitted. These rules target road vehicles, not dumpsters; what they change for you is that the roadway has to stay clear at night for snow removal, and that the occupancy permit remains payable in every season. Add the temporary car shelter, allowed between October 1 and April 30 and required to stand on the parking area: seven months a year, it takes the very spot the dumpster would want. The city posts the parking status every day from 4 p.m., on its website and at 450 961-2001.

By-laws 3902 (s. 5.3) and 1001 (s. 169, 170 and 172), and the « Trouver ma zone de déneigement » and « État du stationnement et des opérations neige » pages of terrebonne.ca, consulted August 16, 2026.

Why the drop-off centre is not enough in Terrebonne

For a trailer of branches or a car trunk, that is enough. Here is where the count runs out.

The ruleWhat it means for a job site
5 drop-offs / yearPer municipal address, up to 5 metric tonnes, at the chemin des Quarante-Arpents waste depot
5 m³ / yearThe quota at both partner ecocentres: roughly 6.5 cubic yards, when a single 10-yard dumpster holds more
Unload by handBois-des-Filion bans dump trailers and dump trucks for dry materials
Contractors turned awayBoth partner ecocentres shut the door on them, and on trucks with more than four wheels too
$127.62 / tonneThe residential rate at the waste depot once the quota is used up, plus $36 in levies; $250 minimum per trip for a business

Nothing takes over at the curb: construction, renovation and demolition debris are excluded from garbage collection and from bulky-item collection alike, the latter itself capped at 2 cubic metres per dwelling unit and one pickup a month. Asked « What do I do with my construction materials? », the city answers on its own that they go to the ecocentre.

City of Terrebonne (« Déchetterie et écocentres » fact sheet of June 2026, « Écocentres et conteneurs » and « Encombrants » pages), Complexe Enviro Connexions (rates in force January 1, 2026), villebdf.ca and villesadp.ca, consulted August 16, 2026.
