10, 20 and 40 Cubic Yard Dumpster Rental in Estrie

In Estrie, Megabac Environnement serves three cities today: Granby, Farnham and Dunham. The mixed dry materials dumpster — 10, 20 or 40 cubic yards — and the four single-material dumpsters (soil-rock-sod, concrete, brick and mortar, asphalt) are delivered there like anywhere else on our territory, PROTEC-O-SOL planks included. Elsewhere in Estrie, service is looked at case by case: one call to 514 708-2424 confirms whether the truck comes to you, and gives you the size, the date and a firm price.

What “Estrie” means here: Granby, Farnham and Dunham

Estrie has not always had this shape. The MRC de La Haute-Yamaska, whose central city is Granby, has belonged to it since July 28, 2021; the MRC de Brome-Missisquoi, home to Farnham and Dunham, falls under Estrie as well. Three towns that, the day before, were read off a Montérégie map — and whose neighbouring cities, to this day, are all on that side.

So this page makes no claim to cover all of Estrie. The Estrie territory we serve today is Granby, Farnham and Dunham: three towns, three pages, named just below. Not Sherbrooke, not Magog, not the Val-Saint-François — writing that down costs less than a truck that never shows up.

Elsewhere in Estrie, the answer is neither yes nor no in advance. The “Your city” menu on the form carries an “Autres villes” (other cities) entry for exactly that reason: the dispatcher looks at the route, at truck availability and at the size of the project, then settles it on the phone. One call to 514 708-2424 is enough to find out — and if the answer is no, you get it right away. Our neighbouring cities on the Montérégie side each have their own page: Saint-Hyacinthe, Chambly, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

The cities we serve in Estrie

Three towns, three pages — and each one carries its own verified by-laws, drop-off centre hours and local questions.

Estrie 3 cities

Your city is not on this list? That does not make it off-limits: pick “Autres villes” on the form, or call 514 708-2424 — the answer comes right away. The full territory lives on the Cities we serve page.

Booking ahead matters more in Estrie

Granby, Farnham and Dunham are our only three addresses in Estrie: past them, the map of served territory stops. The official lead time is the same everywhere — same day if dumpsters are available, ideally booked 24 to 48 hours ahead, Monday to Friday — but with only three towns in the region, the advice to book 24 to 48 hours ahead is worth following to the letter.

Deliveries generally happen between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., with no guaranteed time: we would rather say so than promise what no carrier can keep. What your area does not change: delivery and pick-up included, the rental days — 7 for homeowners, 15 for contractors — a tonnage allowance by size, the PROTEC-O-SOL planks, and the rule that stops the day counter the moment you authorize pick-up by phone. What it does change: the region and geographic zone influence hauling cost, and therefore the price — one of the five things we go through with you before quoting a firm figure.

That is also why larger projects are the ones that make the trip pay off. The 40 cubic yard box and scheduled rotations exist for that, and the work is there: Granby's industrial park covers 627 hectares and brings together more than 160 businesses; Farnham lines up three industrial hubs totalling 117.1 hectares, where manufacturing is the top employment sector. An interior demolition, a full roof, a building cleanout: that is the day worth the drive. Job-site conditions are detailed on the Contractors page, home projects on Homeowners, and the dumpster size guide compares the three formats.

What our drivers already know about Granby and Farnham

The two largest, Granby and Farnham, we already know well — with two different ways of handling the street, the winter and the debris.

Already known, before you call

  • Granby: the post-war bungalow has a wide driveway, the recent semi-detached a narrow one — and a 10 yard fits no better there than a 20, same footprint on the ground, simply less tall
  • Granby: overnight street parking stays allowed in winter, except once a snow-removal operation is triggered — announced the day before
  • Farnham: trucking is prohibited on every municipal road except fifteen named streets, but local delivery is expressly excluded from that ban
  • Farnham: in the rural sector, gravel driveways are long and clear; the reference is branch height, trimmed to 16 ft above the roadway
  • Farnham: the temporary carport goes up from November 1 to May 1, exactly where the dumpster would sit

What we settle on the phone before rolling out

  • The spot: 14 feet by 8 for the 10 and the 20 yard, 20 by 8 for the 40 — plus the clearance the truck needs in length and in height
  • The material: mixed dry materials, or a single material — any mixing in a single-material dumpster brings sorting fees
  • The permit: none on your own property; on the street, the sidewalk or the right-of-way, Granby and Farnham require written authorization, each in its own way
  • The date: same day if dumpsters are available, ideally booked 24 to 48 hours ahead, Monday to Friday
  • Our drivers' tip: four flattened cardboard boxes or a thin sheet of plywood on the chosen spot, before the truck arrives

What changes in Estrie, and what does not

An index page does not replace a city page: this one states what holds for all three, and points to the local pages for the rest.

The questionIn Estrie
Delivery lead timeThe same as everywhere: same day if dumpsters are available, ideally booked 24 to 48 hours ahead, Monday to Friday. Deliveries generally between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., with no guaranteed time.
What is includedIdentical to the rest of the territory: delivery, pick-up, the rental days — 7 for homeowners, 15 for contractors — a tonnage allowance by size and the PROTEC-O-SOL planks under the box.
The priceGiven on the phone, firm, once your address is known: the region and geographic zone influence hauling cost. What is included and the only possible extras do not move.
The permitNone if the dumpster stays on your property. On the street, the sidewalk or the right-of-way: in Granby, the written permission of a municipal officer; in Farnham, a dedicated form, with occupancy limited to one third of the travelled width of the road. Dunham's case is detailed on its own page.
The drop-off centreGranby has its own, run by the MRC de La Haute-Yamaska, which refuses soil and reinforced concrete. Farnham has none: the only permanent facility in Brome-Missisquoi is in Cowansville, and a contractor cannot go there on a resident's behalf.
The Libération Express creditIt applies here like anywhere else: $50 credited when the dumpster is freed up within 48 hours of delivery, during the March-to-October high season. The conditions.

The by-laws section by section, the drop-off centre hours and the local questions live on each city page — that is where the details get verified.

The questions we get in Estrie

Do you serve all of Estrie?

No, and we would rather write it down. The Estrie territory we serve today is Granby, Farnham and Dunham — three towns, each with its own page and its verified by-laws. Elsewhere in Estrie, service is looked at case by case: the “Your city” menu on the form carries an “Autres villes” entry for that, and one call to 514 708-2424 gets you the answer right away, yes or no.

Can you deliver the same day in Granby or Farnham?

Often, yes: the same day if dumpsters are available, Monday to Friday. But Estrie sits at the far end of the route — booking 24 to 48 hours ahead is more than a courtesy here. Deliveries generally happen between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., with no guaranteed time; call early, the line opens at 6 a.m. on weekdays.

Does the price change because I am in Estrie?

It can. The region and geographic zone influence hauling cost, and therefore the price — it is one of the five things we go through with you, along with the size, the type of materials, the duration and the weight. What never changes is what is included: delivery, pick-up, rental days, tonnage allowance, PROTEC-O-SOL planks. The exact, firm price is given on the phone once your address is known — and the price agreed on the phone is the price on the invoice.

Can my county's drop-off centre replace a dumpster?

For a few car-trunk loads, often yes. Beyond that, no — and the towns are not all in the same boat. Granby has its own drop-off centre, run by the MRC de La Haute-Yamaska: vehicles with six wheels or fewer, unloaded by hand, an address in the county required, soil and reinforced concrete refused. Farnham has none: the only permanent facility in Brome-Missisquoi is in Cowansville, it refuses shingles, reinforced concrete and soil, and the county answers “no” to the contractor who would go there on a resident's behalf.

Do I need a permit to drop a dumpster in Granby or Farnham?

Not if the dumpster stays entirely in your driveway: neither town requires one on private property. The moment it touches the street, the sidewalk or the right-of-way, yes. Granby requires the written permission of a municipal officer; Farnham publishes a dedicated form, and the authorization is only issued when it is impossible to keep everything on private property, with occupancy limited to one third of the travelled width of the road. The details, section by section, are on each city page.

Which size for a big job site in Estrie?

The 40 cubic yard, most of the time: 20 feet by 8 on the ground, 4 tonnes included, it is the one we run in scheduled rotations when a job site is moving. For heavy, already-sorted material — concrete, brick and mortar, asphalt, soil-rock-sod — the single-material dumpster includes a far more generous tonnage allowance, provided a single material goes in: any mixing brings sorting fees. The dispatcher confirms the size and the rotation schedule during the call.

Granby, Farnham, Dunham — or an address to check

A two-minute call confirms whether the truck comes to you, which size to take and on what date. Seven days a week, from someone who does this trade every day.
