Dumpster rental — or bin rental, as many Montrealers call it — for the big cleanout, an estate, a renovation or a demolition: dry materials, soil, concrete, bricks, asphalt and more.
14' long × 8' wide × 2.5' high · 3 to 4 pickup-truck loads
A 20-yard filled halfway: same footprint, just lower — choosing it won't free up space in a short driveway.

Libération Express
Every rental includes 7 days — 15 for contractors. But if you work fast, our quick-release promotion rewards you:
More than 48 hours after delivery, the promotion no longer applies — your 7-day rental simply continues, without the credit.
Freeing up dumpsters sooner is also what lets us deliver faster everywhere in La Prairie — everyone wins.
Offer valid during the high season (March to October).
A full dumpster is heavy, and drop-off and pickup are when asphalt gets marked. Every Megabac dumpster arrives clean, safe and fitted with the exclusive PROTEC-O-SOL system: built-in planks that spread the load and protect your asphalt, concrete or paved driveway. Nothing to supply, nothing extra to pay.
Even with the planks, the dumpster is still a steel box. Before the truck arrives, lay down four flattened cardboard boxes — or a thin sheet of plywood — where the dumpster will sit: the steel never touches your asphalt or your pavers directly. Two minutes of prep, zero worries.
The price depends on the size, the type of materials, how long you keep it — and your area. The form above or a two-minute call is all it takes to get your exact price, fast. What makes up the price, in plain words → And if you free up the dumpster within 48 hours of delivery, the Libération Express credit applies — details below.
Size is not the whole story: dumpsters are rented by material type. Each type goes to a different disposal facility — that is why mixed loads bring extra fees. One choice to make, five options:

10, 20 and 40 cubic yards
The do-it-all dumpster: wood, drywall, metal, shingles, furniture — mixed, no problem.

20 yard — the only size offered
Excavation, grading, sod removal — soil, rocks and sod, nothing else.

20 yard — the only size offered
Walkways, slabs, foundations — broken concrete, nothing else.

20 yard — the only size offered
Walls, chimneys, masonry facing — bricks and mortar, nothing else.

20 yard — the only size offered
Old torn-up paving, curb pieces — asphalt, nothing else.
Why it matters. A dumpster rented for concrete that shows up at the disposal facility with wood in it is refused at the concrete rate: the sorting gets billed back. If you have several types of materials, say so in the form or at 514 708-2424 — we point you to the right type, or to two dumpsters when that costs less than sorting fees.
Tires
Paint, solvents, oils
Propane, aerosols, acidsYes, as soon as the public roadway is used: the table in section 27 of by-law 1252 requires a certificate of authorization for “using the public roadway to deposit materials and equipment,” and the application goes through section 48. For a dumpster sitting entirely on your own property, the answer depends on your situation: the urban planning department (450 444-6638) confirms it in one call, and we help you prepare the right questions.
As long as you declare: by-law 1252 sets no maximum duration for occupying the public roadway — the applicant writes the release date and time into the certificate application (s. 48). The certificate itself is valid for at most 6 consecutive months, renewable once for 3 months. No few-day cap like elsewhere: in La Prairie, the schedule is built with you.
Yes, and the by-law even puts a number on it: the holder of a construction permit — residential, commercial, public or industrial, along with additions — must place a waste dumpster of at least 5.6 cubic metres on the site (by-law 1252, s. 21 5°), and building by-law 1248 requires a dumpster of sufficient capacity for any construction or demolition project (s. 54). Now 5.6 m³ works out to 7.32 cubic yards: our 10-yard dumpster (7.65 m³) meets that minimum, a smaller size does not — the math comes straight from the by-law's own figure.
No: “contractors and merchants are not authorized to drop off their materials there” — only household materials are accepted, the city writes. For debris from a contractor-run job, there is therefore no municipal option in La Prairie: the dumpster takes over, and our rotations follow the pace of the work.
Yes, we deliver there — with planning. Vieux-La Prairie is a heritage site declared in 1975: any exterior work on a building or a lot requires, on top of the municipal permit, a work authorization from the ministère de la Culture et des Communications, filed together with the permit application. Build that double circuit into your schedule and book the dumpster for the date the work actually starts. On the older lots, the 10-yard — same footprint as a 20, just lower — is often the right size.
Not for renovation work: the garbage collection refuses construction materials and debris — asphalt, concrete, painted wood, brick, ceramics, drywall, insulation, soil — and the monthly bulky-item pickup only takes damaged furniture, mattresses and box springs, construction material being explicitly excluded. The ecocentre does serve residents well, but with 5 free visits per year and a 5 m³ top load on its fee schedule — a single 10-yard dumpster (7.65 m³) already holds more.
Free up the dumpster within 48 hours of delivery and a $50 credit follows. Past that window, the promotion no longer applies and the 7-day rental simply carries on. The credit returns to your credit card — subtracted from any extras, or reimbursed whole otherwise. Offer valid throughout the high season (March to October).
And elsewhere? We checked the permit rule in every city we serve, by-law in hand — because it is never the same from one city to the next.

We deliver to every neighbourhood in La Prairie — and we know the area.
La Prairie counted 26,406 residents in the 2021 census — up 9.5% in five years — and the city announces 27,145 for 2026. Of 11,050 occupied dwellings, 52.4% are single-family homes, yet 245 dwellings sit in buildings of five storeys or more: our deliveries run from the single-family driveway to the condo loading dock. Two typical job sites live side by side: 1,210 dwellings date from 1960 or earlier and 1,385 went up between 2016 and 2021 (25% sample data). In the Golf and Magdeleine sectors, developed from the 1970s to the 2000s and dominated by detached single-family homes, a 20-yard dumpster fits with room to spare. In Vieux-La Prairie — a 96-hectare heritage site with some 330 buildings in its oldest core — the 10-yard is often the right call: same footprint as a 20, just lower. Everywhere, the PROTEC-O-SOL planks do their work, and our drivers' advice is worth taking: four flattened cardboard boxes wherever the dumpster will sit, to preserve your surface.

At the centre of the urban area, La Prairie's industrial park covers 105 hectares of manufacturing SMEs, warehousing and trucking firms, concentrated along chemin Saint-José and rue Goyer and served by one of the two Canadian National rail lines that cross the city. For our 40-yard rotations, the road layout helps: highways 15 and 30, running north-south, are transit routes open to all heavy vehicles — the urban plan even describes Highway 15 as the main commercial corridor between Montreal and New York. Routes 104 (chemin de Saint-Jean) and 134 (boulevard Taschereau) are classed as restricted routes, to be taken over short distances only, and transit heavy trucking is banned on Route 217: our drivers time their runs around exactly that.

From December 1 to April 1, as soon as a snow-removal operation is declared, the street empties out from midnight to 7 a.m.; outside operations, overnight parking alternates — even side on even days, odd side on odd days — and the day's decision is announced at 6 p.m. on the Info-déneigement line (450 444-5999). The fine is $40. About twenty streets, most of them in Vieux-La Prairie (Saint-Ignace, Sainte-Marie, du Boulevard, among others), are excluded from overnight parking for the whole winter. These rules target vehicles, not dumpsters — but they say what matters: the roadway has to stay clear, so the dumpster gets planned into the driveway. A local twist: the temporary car shelter is allowed from November 1 to April 1 and, in the La Citière sector, only in a parking area leading to a garage whose floor sits below ground level — measure the space you have left before delivery.

Here are its limits, municipal figures in hand.
| The rule | What it means for a job site |

| 5 m³ at most | The largest load on the fee schedule — a single 10-yard dumpster (7.65 m³) already holds more, and a 40-yard is worth over 6 |
| Residents only | La Prairie and, since January 3, 2026, Candiac — photo ID and proof of residence required |

At the curb, nothing picks up the slack: the garbage collection refuses construction materials and debris — asphalt, concrete, painted wood, brick, ceramics, drywall, insulation, soil — and the monthly bulky-item pickup only takes damaged furniture, mattresses and box springs, construction material being explicitly excluded. For renovation debris, a bin rental is the road left open.
