Dumpster rental — or bin rental, as many Montrealers call it — for the big cleanout, an estate, a renovation or a demolition: dry materials, soil, concrete, bricks, asphalt and more.
14' long × 8' wide × 2.5' high · 3 to 4 pickup-truck loads
A 20-yard filled halfway: same footprint, just lower — choosing it won't free up space in a short driveway.

Libération Express
Every rental includes 7 days — 15 for contractors. But if you work fast, our quick-release promotion rewards you:
More than 48 hours after delivery, the promotion no longer applies — your 7-day rental simply continues, without the credit.
Freeing up dumpsters sooner is also what lets us deliver faster everywhere in Dorval — everyone wins.
Offer valid during the high season (March to October).
A full dumpster is heavy, and drop-off and pickup are when asphalt gets marked. Every Megabac dumpster arrives clean, safe and fitted with the exclusive PROTEC-O-SOL system: built-in planks that spread the load and protect your asphalt, concrete or paved driveway. Nothing to supply, nothing extra to pay.
Even with the planks, the dumpster is still a steel box. Before the truck arrives, lay down four flattened cardboard boxes — or a thin sheet of plywood — where the dumpster will sit: the steel never touches your asphalt or your pavers directly. Two minutes of prep, zero worries.
The price depends on the size, the type of materials, how long you keep it — and your area. The form above or a two-minute call is all it takes to get your exact price, fast. What makes up the price, in plain words → And if you free up the dumpster within 48 hours of delivery, the Libération Express credit applies — details below.
Size is not the whole story: dumpsters are rented by material type. Each type goes to a different disposal facility — that is why mixed loads bring extra fees. One choice to make, five options:

10, 20 and 40 cubic yards
The do-it-all dumpster: wood, drywall, metal, shingles, furniture — mixed, no problem.

20 yard — the only size offered
Excavation, grading, sod removal — soil, rocks and sod, nothing else.

20 yard — the only size offered
Walkways, slabs, foundations — broken concrete, nothing else.

20 yard — the only size offered
Walls, chimneys, masonry facing — bricks and mortar, nothing else.

20 yard — the only size offered
Old torn-up paving, curb pieces — asphalt, nothing else.
Why it matters. A dumpster rented for concrete that shows up at the disposal facility with wood in it is refused at the concrete rate: the sorting gets billed back. If you have several types of materials, say so in the form or at 514 708-2424 — we point you to the right type, or to two dumpsters when that costs less than sorting fees.
Tires
Paint, solvents, oils
Propane, aerosols, acidsYes, from the instant the dumpster lands on the street, the sidewalk or the grass strip in front of your home: by-law RCM-68-2018 names dumpsters expressly, and public property runs all the way to your lot line. On private ground, Dorval stands apart: the city requires a building permit or a certificate of authorization for an interior renovation that requires a container — call Urban Planning (514 633-4084) before delivery, and we'll help you frame the question.
A $25 issuance fee, then $100 per day for less than 50 m² of roadway or sidewalk: seven days on the street add up to $725 in municipal fees, before the rental itself. In your driveway, those fees simply don't exist. The first-tier placement is an order of magnitude — the applicant declares the area occupied (RCM-98-2023, schedule D).
No — the city says so itself and refers residents to the Saint-Laurent (3535, rue Sartelon) and LaSalle (7272, rue Saint-Patrick) ecocentres. Count on 12 m³ of construction debris free per year for a resident, with photo ID and proof of address at every visit and no dump trucks admitted; a business pays $31 per cubic metre from the very first.
Not for a job site: it serves single-family homes only, caps out at 2 m³ per month and 25 kg per item, and the city warns that debris from contractors' work will not be picked up. Emptying the equivalent of a single 10-yard dumpster (7.6 m³) would take about four months of collections — our calculation, from the municipal figures (by-law RCM-106). One bin rental does in a single delivery what the curb would take four months to absorb.
It's the worst season to try: between November 15 and April 15, a permit applicant must check with the duty foreman (514 237-7346) whether a snow-removal operation is planned — no obstruction is tolerated during those operations — and street snow is blown precisely into the right-of-way. A private driveway settles the question, and we help you pick the spot there.
The 20-yard covers most renovations of a 1950s house — basement, kitchen, roof. Concrete reference point: it's about the size of a Dodge Caravan. As for the 10-yard, it takes up the same footprint, just lower: it frees no space in a short driveway, but it's enough for a cleanout. The 40-yard is the tool for job sites and full house clear-outs.
It depends on the dumpster you rent. The mixed format (10, 20 or 40 yards) takes dry materials together: wood, drywall, shingles, metal, furniture. The four single-material dumpsters — soil-rocks-sod, concrete, bricks and mortar, asphalt — accept only their own material, or sorting fees apply. And in every case: no tires, and no paint, solvents, oils, propane, aerosols or acids.
And elsewhere? We checked the permit rule in every city we serve, by-law in hand — because it is never the same from one city to the next.

We deliver to every neighbourhood in Dorval — and we know the area.
South of Highway 20 is Dorval's house country: most homes there went up between 1946 and 1960, the detached single-family house dominates (50% of dwellings) and the density — 12 dwellings per gross hectare — is that of a first-generation suburb. The city's urban plan goes as far as describing Pine Beach, gathered around its train station, as the archetype of first-generation suburbs. A postwar housing stock means basements, roofs and kitchens coming due — exactly the volume of a 20-yard dumpster. On the tighter lots of the Vieux-village, the 10-yard keeps the same footprint as a 20, just lower.

North of Highway 20 — roughly three quarters of the city's land area, going by the official district figures — Dorval changes face: Montréal-Trudeau airport occupies a zoning group of its own, and the Saint-Laurent/Dorval employment hub is the metropolitan area's second largest, with more than 189,000 jobs and close to 43,000 of them in Dorval itself, spread around the airport, Côte-de-Liesse and the Hymus/Highway 40 axis. The urban plan also lists 45 recorded contaminated sites, 22 of them decontaminated — ground where our single-material dumpsters (soil-rocks-sod, concrete, bricks and mortar, asphalt) and scheduled 40-yard rotations earn their keep.

In Dorval, street snow is blown straight into the right-of-way — precisely the strip between the pavement and your lot — and the by-law prohibits placing anything on public property that can hinder snow-removal operations. The city also asks residents to keep their bins in the private driveway, never on the sidewalk or in the street: the same logic applies to a dumpster. And if the street is your only option between November 15 and April 15, the permit form requires calling the Public Works duty foreman (514 237-7346) — no obstruction is tolerated while snow is being cleared. One last seasonal detail: the temporary car shelter, allowed from November 1 to April 15 in the driveway, often occupies the exact spot a dumpster would take.

For a spring cleanout they do the job. Here are their limits, municipal figures in hand.
| The rule | What it means for a job site |
|---|---|
| Closed Mondays | Tuesday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 15 to October 14; Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in winter |
| 12 m³ / year free | For a resident, with photo ID and proof of address required at every visit; $31 per m³ beyond that |
| $31 / m³ from the first | What a construction business pays, from the very first cubic metre — and dump trucks are never admitted |
| 2 m³ / month | The cap on the municipal construction-debris collection, single-family homes only: emptying a single 10-yard dumpster (7.6 m³) would take about four months — our calculation, from the city's own figures |
to 4 p.m., 2 m³ maximum — and business vehicles are turned away. For a job site, a dumpster rental is the only continuous route.
