Megabac Environnement serves Laval-des-Rapides, the Ville de Laval sector laid along the rivière des Prairies: mixed dry materials in 10, 20 and 40 cubic yards, plus a box held for concrete alone, or brick, or asphalt, or soil. On a private job site the Laval Code de l'urbanisme demands the box and demands no permit for it; out on the roadway, by-law L-13087 takes over. Our line: 514 708-2424.

Dumpster rental — or bin rental, as many Montrealers call it — for the big cleanout, an estate, a renovation or a demolition: dry materials, soil, concrete, bricks, asphalt and more.
14' long × 8' wide × 2.5' high · 3 to 4 pickup-truck loads
A 20-yard filled halfway: same footprint, just lower — choosing it won't free up space in a short driveway.
For guidance only — the exact size cannot be guaranteed.
14' long × 8' wide × 5' high · 6 to 8 pickup-truck loads
About the size of a Dodge Caravan — you can already picture it
20' long × 8' wide × 7' high · 12 to 16 pickup-truck loads
Our practical guide helps you choose the right size for your project — renovation, demolition, soil, concrete, bricks, asphalt — with the conditions and the FAQ.
Libération Express
Every rental includes 7 days — 15 for contractors. But if you work fast, our quick-release promotion rewards you:
More than 48 hours after delivery, the promotion no longer applies — your 7-day rental simply continues, without the credit.
Freeing up dumpsters sooner is also what lets us deliver faster everywhere in Laval-des-Rapides — everyone wins.
Offer valid during the high season (March to October).
A full dumpster is heavy, and drop-off and pickup are when asphalt gets marked. Every Megabac dumpster arrives clean, safe and fitted with the exclusive PROTEC-O-SOL system: built-in planks that spread the load and protect your asphalt, concrete or paved driveway. Nothing to supply, nothing extra to pay.
Even with the planks, the dumpster is still a steel box. Before the truck arrives, lay down four flattened cardboard boxes — or a thin sheet of plywood — where the dumpster will sit: the steel never touches your asphalt or your pavers directly. Two minutes of prep, zero worries.
The price depends on the size, the type of materials, how long you keep it — and your area. The form above or a two-minute call is all it takes to get your exact price, fast. What makes up the price, in plain words → And if you free up the dumpster within 48 hours of delivery, the Libération Express credit applies — details below.
Size is not the whole story: dumpsters are rented by material type. Each type goes to a different disposal facility — that is why mixed loads bring extra fees. One choice to make, five options:

10, 20 and 40 cubic yards
The do-it-all dumpster: wood, drywall, metal, shingles, furniture — mixed, no problem.

20 yard — the only size offered
Excavation, grading, sod removal — soil, rocks and sod, nothing else.

20 yard — the only size offered
Walkways, slabs, foundations — broken concrete, nothing else.

20 yard — the only size offered
Walls, chimneys, masonry facing — bricks and mortar, nothing else.

20 yard — the only size offered
Old torn-up paving, curb pieces — asphalt, nothing else.
Why it matters. A dumpster rented for concrete that shows up at the disposal facility with wood in it is refused at the concrete rate: the sorting gets billed back. If you have several types of materials, say so in the form or at 514 708-2424 — we point you to the right type, or to two dumpsters when that costs less than sorting fees.
Tires
Paint, solvents, oils
Propane, aerosols, acidsBecause two variables multiply each other. First the class of the way: $26 a day in a local street, $106 on an arterial or a collector, for a footprint of 3 m or less. Then the high-density strategic segment, which triples the day's rate. Inside Laval-des-Rapides all four cases sit within a few hundred metres of one another: $235 in a Bon-Pasteur bungalow street, $2,279 on avenue Ampère or boulevard Robin, the $53 in fixed fees included. Figures calculated by us on the City's 2026 schedule.
Yes, and that is the trap of this sector. On the City's map, avenue Léo-Lacombe and rue François-Souillard are drawn in the same grey as the local streets beside them, but under the green highlight of high-density strategic segments; so are the small streets Marconi, Branly, Nobel-Perrin and Copernic. A week in a space there comes to $599 rather than $235. Since this is the reading of a 1:20,000 map, ask the Service de l'ingénierie for written confirmation before booking anything.
Nothing whatsoever, and the Code de l'urbanisme pushes the point one step further: on a job site it orders the waste into a box (s. 131). Only three obligations come with it — 1.5 m of setback from the lot lines, an installation later than the issuing of the building permit, a removal within the 30 days following the end of the job site. The Code's five yard-type tables allow the box in all four yards, front yard included. The occupancy permit, for its part, concerns the public domain only.
To us, on to the sorting or disposal centre: that is the whole principle of the service. The two Laval drop-off points are at the other end of the island, on boulevard Dagenais Ouest, in Vimont and in Fabreville, with a ceiling of 3 m³ per visit — less than half a 10-yard —, 12 m³ free per address per year, then $29 a cubic metre. A business gets through the gate only alongside the Laval resident it is working for, dump truck refused and unloading done at arm's length.
That is the worst place in the sector to try it. Permit zones 1, 14, 15 and 16 cover the streets near the station, and zone 1 keeps every space for residents, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Yet the exemption from the engineer's plan and from the insurance assumes on-street parking to be permitted throughout: the City has not settled that case in writing, so it has to be put to them before counting on a space. Boulevard de la Concorde Ouest is a high-density segment on top of it, at $318 a day.
Often yes, but the margin is thin: the municipal study gives that group lots of 15 to 18 m of frontage by 22 to 26 m of depth, the shortest in Laval-des-Rapides. The marker that settles the question in ten seconds: a 20-yard is about the size of a Dodge Caravan. If the minivan fits with room to walk past it, the box fits too. And dropping a size shortens nothing: the 10-yard is the 20-yard at half height, laid on the same rectangle.
No. The mixed dry materials format swallows wood, drywall, metal, shingles and furniture, in 10, 20 or 40 yards. The four dedicated boxes — concrete alone, bricks and mortar alone, soil-rocks-sod alone, asphalt alone — each take their own material and nothing else, and any mixing sets off sorting fees. Refused in every format, whatever the size: tires and everything chemical — paint, solvents, oils, propane, aerosols, acids.
And elsewhere? We checked the permit rule in every city we serve, by-law in hand — because it is never the same from one city to the next.

We deliver to every neighbourhood in Laval-des-Rapides — and we know the area.
It all starts at the moulin du Crochet and at the railway: the village of Parc-Laval became a municipality on April 3, 1912, and a council resolution of March 23, 1921 renamed four of its streets — chemin Principal became boulevard des Prairies, boulevard Roi-de-Rome became avenue du Parc, boulevard de l'Impératrice became avenue Legrand, boulevard Prince-de-Galles became avenue du Pacifique. What followed, the City's typo-morphological study tells in figures: a sector that came out of the ground in some fifteen years. The “Les Habitations Labelle” project lined up 36 single-family houses on avenues Quintal, de l'Étoile and Bazin in 1954-1955, then close to 250 bungalows in two years on the Bon-Pasteur side; Américal signed nearly 200 more along boulevard Daniel-Johnson and avenue de Galais; Saint-Claude filled in between 1955 and 1967. A stock raised that fast grows old together: 65 to 80 years today, meaning the second roof, the basement to redo and the original windows — with the neighbours getting to it in the same summers.
What decides the delivery here is not the width of the lot. Frontages run from 13 m on the l'Anse-Bleue terraces to 18 m in the Habitations Cité; even after the 1.5 m that section 131 takes off each lot line, 10 to 15 m of usable strip is left. Depth is what squeezes: 22 to 26 m in Bon-Pasteur, the shortest in the sector. In front of a driveway like that, remember what the 10-yard is worth: a 20-yard filled halfway, set on the same footprint, simply not as tall — so it buys back no length at all. And PROTEC-O-SOL planks or not, our drivers ask for the same thing everywhere: put down four flattened cardboard boxes, or one thin panel of plywood, on the very spot you have in mind, before the truck shows up.
Ville de Laval typo-morphological study, March 2020, records LDR 01 to LDR 12; the “Laval-des-rapides” municipal history page on laval.ca; Code de l'urbanisme de Laval, s. 131 — consulted August 17, 2026.
The sector is not only a checkerboard of bungalows. Boulevard Armand-Frappier carries a science campus, and the City is running the revitalization of the “secteur de la station de la Concorde”: its first project built around public transit, of the transit-oriented development kind, turning a former industrial quarter into a place to live, with a high-level bus service corridor planned along boulevard de la Concorde. The parc linéaire Napoléon-Prud'homme and the rebuilt avenue Ampère are already done, a building at the Ampère–de la Concorde intersection has been deconstructed, and the station itself dates from 2007, when the metro extension added three stations to Laval. Densifying, in that vocabulary, means demolishing in part, rebuilding and sending debris out.
For a contractor the Laval arithmetic settles fast: the City's two drop-off centres let a business in only alongside the Laval resident it works for, 3 m³ per visit, no trailer and no dump truck, and no hand with the unloading. What is left is the 40-yard and planned swaps, joined by the dedicated box as soon as a demolition sets one material apart: concrete on its own, and likewise brick and mortar, asphalt, soil-rocks-sod.

Laval-des-Rapides is one of only three sectors — with Pont-Viau and Chomedey — where the City rolled out, for the winter of 2025-2026, its dynamic parking signage on solar-powered lighted panels. Elsewhere on the island the restrictions run from October 1 to April 30; in those three sectors they hold all year long. A panel lit and flashing means no pulling over on that side of the street, as a rule between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., weekends counted in, with a few hours of lit warning and no more. On a boulevard both sides can light up at the same time, and the signs on the street always outrank what the app displays.
The rest is written into the by-law: nothing an occupant owns, damaged while snow is being cleared or maintenance carried out, opens a claim against the City (s. 8), and public works may take away a thing left standing in the right-of-way against the rules, the bill going to whoever owns it (ss. 52 and 53). Add that boulevard des Laurentides, which borders the sector to the east, is one of the four priority 1 routes for snow clearing, that blowing starts once 10 cm has piled up, and that curbside spaces stay under snow on evenings and weekends. The conclusion needs no drama: between November and March, aim for the driveway.

Laval-des-Rapides has no drop-off centre — and nothing nearby either. The two Laval addresses follow one another along boulevard Dagenais Ouest: at 1205, the Vimont ecocentre; at 4026, in Fabreville, the dry materials receiving area. That is the northern half of the island, while the sector runs along the rivière des Prairies at the very south. For two cabinet doors the municipal route is still the right answer. Here is where it stops.
| The rule | What it means for a job site |
|---|---|
| No drop-off in the south | Not here, not in Pont-Viau, not in Chomedey — the three sectors the City itself calls the most populated in Laval |
| 3 m³ ceiling per visit | Barely 3.9 cubic yards, less than half a 10-yard: three trips at the very least to empty a single box |
| 12 m³ free per year | About 15.7 cubic yards per address, wood, construction debris and soil combined; $29 per cubic metre past that |
| June 24 and July 1 | Fabreville closes and Vimont stays open — yet soil, sand and stone are taken at Fabreville only |
| Nothing mechanized | Dump trucks and dump trailers turned away at the gate, unloading by hand with no help from staff, a business admitted only when its Laval customer comes along |
The curb does not make up the volume either. Bulky items top out at 2 m³ per address, every piece having to be carried by two people without mechanical equipment and to measure 1.80 m at most; the scheduled collection passes once a month, eleven times a year, and everything it picks up goes to landfill. Only the collection by appointment takes back some construction debris. This is not a ban, it is a question of scale: a 20-yard would stand for six ecocentre visits and roughly $95 over quota.
